After days of activity suspension, ArcelorMittal decided to resume production on the Belval, Differdange and Rodange sites on Monday March 30th.

The health situation is exceptional and we place the highest priority in protecting our teams. Still, it is essential that production activities can resume and continue, in order to contribute to the continuity of economic activity and to serve the interests of all our stakeholders, including our personnel, our customers and the communities.

Restart operations are technically well known to all our employees and they will continue to follow a series of reinforced sanitary measures.

In this difficult and extraordinary period, ArcelorMittal is mobilizing to continue its industrial activity in the best sanitary conditions for its employees, and thus keep on providing products quality and impeccable customer service.

Besides this, due to the increasing number of absences within the teams for various reasons (childcare, sick leave, self-isolation, quarantine, etc.), the Bissen and Dommeldange sites were no longer able to ensure the correct operation of the installations in compliance with the procedures guaranteeing the safety of people and equipment.

The Bissen wire drawing site decided to suspend its activity from March 25 to April 2 inclusive. The Dommeldange site did the same from March 26 until April 9. During this period, activities are reduced to the strict minimum. Shipments of finished products are ensured as best as possible with the teams present in order to meet our customers’ orders, and in strict compliance with sanitary rules.
