From October 30 to 31, 2017, ArcelorMittal participated to the Engineering trainee days organized by Jonk Entrepreneuren. Five students came to the Belval, Differdange, Rodange plants and to the R&D center in Esch-sur-Alzette to discover the activities, products and trades.

From March to May 2017, seven interventions were carried out in different high schools by ArcelorMittal employees (research, maintenance and production engineers) under the ‘Hello Future’ program led by the Fedil, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce, Luxinnovation and the Luxembourg government. The objective is to promote the steel industry trades.

This approach gives ArcelorMittal greater visibility in the education world and fosters direct contact with potential candidates for future internships within STEM fields. Our colleagues have shared their passion, and learned from the youth.

These interactions allow close relationships between schools and companies, giving companies the opportunity to present their often-unknown trades, and to create potential vocations. By discovering the necessary know-how and knowledge, students can also gradually build their orientations.
