In 2021, the grooved rails from ArcelorMittal Rodange was trusted by the Iberian market thanks to their performance and low carbon impact.
Our Luxembourg site specialized in rails produced and delivered 8,000 meters of grooved rails (60R1) for the extension of the Metrovalencia with the new line 10. The entire lot is made of Low Carbon R290V steel grade. This grade means less carbon content for better performance, including easy maintenance, welding and repair welding, increasing the service life of embedded rail. Thanks to its characteristics, the rails of the Metrovalencia will have a more sustainable use.
Valence is the 3rd city in Spain to have an underground metro network, this one inaugurated in October 1988. The rails of Rodange now allow the inhabitants of the district of Nazareth to reach the center of Valence thanks to the 2 kilometers of additional track and covers 8 new stops.
