Renewal of our ESR – Responsible Company label
In July 2025, ArcelorMittal in Luxembourg confirmed its commitment to sustainability, once again obtaining the ESR – Responsible Company label.
What is the ESR label?
Issued by the National Institute for Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility (INDR) in Luxembourg, this label helps structure, formalize, and promote our sustainability/CSR commitments, while promoting a continuous improvement approach.
ArcelorMittal in Luxembourg (Belval, Differdange, Rodange, Bissen, and administrative sites) first obtained the label in 2012, which is renewed every three years. As the only national sustainability labeling, it also provides access to the "Responsibility Europe [1]" label..
Labeling Process
After an online self-assessment covering more than 100 topics across the label’s four pillars (CSR Strategy, Governance, Social, Environment), we underwent a two-day audit at the end of June on a selection of 30 topics. This process highlighted a wide variety of actions taken to integrate sustainability into our industrial activities and cross-functional functions.
As obtaining the label is a collaborative project, we thank and congratulate all the teams involved. By renewing our ESR label, we confirm our position as a responsible economic player contributing to the sustainable development of Luxembourg.
Responsible Steel™
ArcelorMittal Long Products Luxembourg (LPL) is also committed to the Responsible Steel™ program, the world’s first steel sourcing certification, demonstrating that our processes meet rigorously defined social, environmental, and governance standards. This certification was renewed in 2024 for a period of three years.
