Expansion of Israel’s largest port

Ashdod is the fifth biggest Israeli city with the largest port of the country increasing its container capacity year-on-year. The current project foresees two kilometers of new quay walls with a total retaining height of 21 meters.

The main wall and anchor wall will require a total of 26 600 t HZ-M sheet piles from ArcelorMittal Differdange and AZ sheet piles from ArcelorMittal Belval Mill 2 in Luxembourg.

ArcelorMittal Projects in the Netherlands will carry out finishing of the order. ArcelorMittal ran the tender first thanks to its relation and its engineering support provided to the stakeholders at early project stage.

Moreover, the ArcelorMittal sheet pile solution was chosen among competitors not only for its overall cost efficiency, but also for the expertise and steel product solution provided by the company’s commercial teams. Indeed, ArcelorMittal stood out from the competition through its successful engineering customer service and its technical assistance during execution work.

In addition, 15 000 t of steel tubes, 14 000 t of bars and 3 000 t of anchoring materials were delivered by ArcelorMittal Projects.
